Hard to believe that we are into the third week already. It seems that everyone is in agreement that its been worth the wait! Its been great to see old and new friends getting stuck into the routes.
We've been inundated with positive feedback since we opened and there has been the usual lively debate about grades. Don't forget that you can use the arêtes and features as well as bridging wherever possible and some of the crucial holds may require a bit of 3D movement (just like in the real world!)
We are still setting new routes every day but there are a few indoor classics that will be here to stay, like the big Archangel arête, the classic 'Yorkshire VS' crack and the heinous Yosemite finger crack - full marks to Doug Sleigh who drove over from Leicester to get the first (non staff) flash of the 5.12b variation.
This week we have been mostly having Entreprises banging away on the mezzanine assembling the new and rather fab bouldering wall. work should be complete by the 28th Feb and the routes will be set which will be just in time for us to host the final round of the Southern Counties University Indoor Bouldering League on Saturday March 1st - as good an excuse to launch the new wall as any.
In the meantime, we will also be hosting the Universities of the Midlands Bouldering Competition in the downstairs bouldering area on the afternoon of Wednesday the 27th.
The Rock On shop is bulging with gear as promised and even the toilets are getting rave reviews!
Come down and check Redpoint out soon, if you haven't already done so!
