News Update 13th June 2007

Updates have been few and progress has been slow for some time as we’ve been caught up in the planning problems that have been blighting development of Birmingham’s Eastside. Because of this we decided to move the project away from the Eastside area and the Custard factory site.

This decison was a tough one given how much time and effort we had put into it. Although there were many pros and cons of the various sites we had negotiated there, it has to be said that the last few years have been a bit like trying to build a climbing wall with the Wizard of Oz so we are glad to be in our new building.

We’ve taken possession of a building near the city centre, which is perfect for our needs, with great road and public transport connections and plenty of parking. It’s tall, light and has lots of space for everything we’ve imagined building.

While it’s still a building site we need to keep visitors to a minimum, but we’ll be revealing the exact location soon. We can tell you that its inside the Ring Rd, about half a kilometre from the Aston Expressway and a few hundred meteres from Aston University!

This is the culmination of ten years of hard work and planning. We have the planning permission in place, we have the keys, and we have the same fantastic bunch of highly committed and energetic people that we collected at the beginning, ready to make this happen.

We’ve kept all your ideas and suggestions and we’ll be incorporating as many as we can, as well as a few of our own we’ve been dreaming about during the quiet moments.

We are aiming to be up and running in September and we will be offering pre-opening sessions and registration to everyone on the mailing list. Also, just to get you all as excited as we are, as promised, we will be holding a prize draw to win a year’s free entry.

Feel free to pass the news on. You can expect more news, information and pictures on the website soon.

Can’t wait to see you there!

Best Wishes,

Phil, Rob and the team.
