Extreme Sports Central climb Everest for charity

everest

UPDATE

They did it! On the hottest day of the year so far. Congratulations guys and everyone, you can still donate!

Wednesday 23rd May 2012 will saw this year's second successful attempt at the heights of Mount Everest (as represented by a group of people making about 900 indoor ascents), this time by the intrepid members of Extreme Sports Central.

Following Mountain Rescue's sterling work rescuing one of their members from a painful accident on the Cuillin Ridge recently, ESC decided to raise some funds to show their appreciation (without requiring their sponsors to cough up the cash to get them to the Himalayas). The team climbed all 8848m at Redpoint Climbing Centre starting at around 11am and finishing around 9pm

You can find details on how to join in and sponsor their hard work here.

Mountain Rescue is an entirely voluntary body which relies on the support and generosity of the public to maintain their valuable community service. They have certainly been there for a few of our members when we needed them. So dig deep people, this is a truly inspirational cause, and it is something that everyone can help raise money for.

Here's that link again and thanks very much for your generosity!
